Welcome to the bread and
butter of our world.
Welcome to our bread and butter. As mentioned on our homepage, we embrace our western heritage and unique lifestyle in the tallgrass prairie of the Flint Hills. We use horses for daily chores. Why? It’s the best place to absorb the unspoiled view of the Flint Hills. The result is well-trained horses and tired cowboys. But, that is a good thing!
Because our family is also involved in the sport of rodeo where Cory is a PRCA calf roper and Heather still dabbles in barrel racing, these horses often have a great deal of time in an arena as well. We like to start and train colts and sometimes have a few too many in the remuda. Therefore horses are often for sale.
In addition to the cow/calf operation, the ranch pastures nearly 4,500 head of client cattle each summer during grazing season. The Flint Hills is unique as it offers stout bluestem and Indian grasses that help cattle thrive. The area has abundant rain that provides run-off for the many ponds. These resources allow for great weight gain. Pasture contracts are usually secured by March 1 of each year.
